The Pack is back — and we’re ready! MCR, the fifth-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States, has acquired the 127-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott Green Bay in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
It’s a touchdown for Packers fans gearing up for Sunday’s big playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field. The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Green Bay is just minutes from the Green & Gold’s legendary stadium — making it the perfect spot to watch the NFC Divisional Round (kickoff is at 6:40 PM EST).
“The hotel is close enough to the field that fans and guests can hear the roar from Lambeau on Sunday,” says Michael Buta, Regional Director of Operations for MCR. “Go Pack go!”
Afterward, toast the team’s latest victory (or cry into your beer) at one of the city’s buzzy craft breweries:
Badger State Brewing Company
Just steps from the hotel, this award-winning brewery boasts 24 rotating beers on tap. Among them: a super hoppy IPA called the Grassy Place (a loose translation of “Wisconsin” attributed to the Chippewa Indians who once called the area home). Think of it as a nod to a certain field of note!
Hinterland Brewery
Try the Packerland Pilsner, first brewed in 1997 to mark the Green & Gold’s Super Bowl championship. It pairs well with burgers, brats and (naturally) cheese curds. “The beer is a celebration of the city,” says Hinterland owner Bill Tressler. “We’re right next to the stadium so we get a ton of fans, players and Packers employees here.”
Titletown Brewing Company
Twice named USA Today’s Best Brewpub in America, Titletown scores with Dark Helmet, a German-style black lager that has a devoted following. Traveling with pee-wee players? The brewery’s non-alcoholic Sno-Cap root beer is made from an old family recipe — so everyone in the family can get in on the playoff action. Win or lose, head back to the SpringHill Suites by Marriott and treat yourself to a post-game soak in the whirlpool or work off that excess game day energy in the 24-hour fitness center. Super idea, no?
