MCR Acquires Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago

MCR, the 3rd-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States, has acquired Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago. The 11-story, 1,095-room hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, underwent a $13 million guestroom renovation in 2020. This is the company’s first Hyatt Regency-branded hotel acquisition and its fifth hotel in Illinois.
Situated in the vibrant Chicago suburb of Rosemont, the hotel is located just 5 minutes from the Chicago O’Hare International Airport — the 5th-busiest airport in the U.S., serving 74 million passengers annually.
Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago is conveniently connected via skywalk to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. The sprawling venue, which boasts more than 840,000 square feet of exhibition space, hosts a full calendar of events including the International Gem & Jewelry Show, the Illinois Bridal & Wedding Expo and The Chicago Sports Spectacular.
The surrounding area is a buzzing corporate hub, with more than 18 million square feet of office space. It’s home to the headquarters of US Foods, Wintrust, the Big Ten Conference and Reyes Holdings — the 6th-largest privately held company in the United States. All are located within a few blocks of the hotel.
Premier shopping and leisure destinations can also be found just minutes from the hotel. Less than a mile away is the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, home to more than 130 retailers including Saks Off Fifth, Gucci and Nordstrom Rack. Guests will also enjoy the proximity to Rivers Casino Des Plaines, the Rosemont Theatre and the 18,500-seat Allstate Arena.
The hotel offers three dining options, including the full-service Red Bar & Lounge in the evenings and O’H American Grill for daily breakfast buffet and lunch service.
